What if you had a chef in your house, exclusive just for you?

What if you had a chef in your house, exclusive just for you?

The sky is the limit for Ricardo Stella, the Brazilian chef who goes to your house to cook so that you can shine and impress.

Have you ever felt like inviting a group of friends over to your house for dinner, but you’re so tired that you invariably end up postponing the date?

Have you ever prepareda party in your apartment and, when everything is finally ready to be tasted, you feel so exhausted that you can't enjoy either the menu or the company?

Have you ever had a party in your villa that goes so well but ends so late that you don't have the courage to tidy up?

Have you ever thought that the most beautiful and comfortable restaurant you know is actually your dining room and your house with a view?

Have you ever wished to gather your family at a table without leaving the cosiness of your property, but you don’t want to have the work of preparing the house?

Have you ever wished that restaurants had a room for children, so that you could keep talking and drinking when your children are already cranky and falling asleep?

Have you ever felt like talking out loud and not wanting to be heard by the next table at the same time?

We have all been through these and other similar situations. And we have all felt that we would be best friends, best parents, best relatives, best people, if from time to time we had a multidisciplinary magic wand that would help us to welcome the people we like, without having to spend five hours in the kitchen and many more between the supermarket and tidying up. And we would be even better if offering a lunch or dinner wasn't the same as having to control two dozen different things at the same time. The good news is that today it no longer takes magic to offer deluxe dinners and to impress guests without getting tired or deprived of the party.

If you're one of those people who's always promising dinners, or who dreams of parties that never happened, you can finally start catching up on the agenda. Ricardo Stella, the Brazilian chef who is winning over Portuguese families, does not make magic, but presents an innovative, elegant and personalized service that is distinguished not only by the quality and design of the gastronomy, but also by the whole service, which he starts preparing long before he gets to your house. It is a home service, but any comparison with a catering service is completely wrong. Stella's work is done exclusively for you, thought and conceived with you - two heads and four hands - and, therefore, it is unrepeatable. It has only one disadvantage: your guests may never want to leave your home again.

Italian, Mediterranean, contemporary and design gastronomy

Ricardo Nápole Stella is 47 years old and was born in São Paulo, Brazil, where he lived most of his life. Graduated in Business Administration, with specialization in Marketing, where he developed his career in the last two decades, his biggest hobby has always been gastronomy. Recently, he decided to reverse his professional priorities, turning his greatest pleasure into the greatest pleasure of others. The proposal of this chef specialized in Italian food is summed up in a sentence: "you shine and he works; you dream and he performs".

Stella's mission is to simplify your life: he goes to the supermarket; he chooses the best products, always fresh and always organic; he delivers them to your home and prepares them according to the menu you have previously ordered - and that can include a dish or two, with or without starters and desserts. And it can range from Italian to Portuguese food, from the traditional to the modern menu, from hot to cold dishes.

That's because this chef didn't just trust what he learned to do all his life. He wanted to professionalize and specialize. In 2014, he had training in Europe and in the USA. In São Paulo, he attended a course on "Italian Regional Cuisine" at the Accademia Gastronomica, taught by Giuseppe Gerundino, a chef trained at La Cucina Italiana, the oldest gastronomy school in Italy, and by Gabriela Pestana, a journalist who traded the news for cooking. Shortly after, Ricardo Stella was invited to participate in the "International Week of Puglia" in Italy, coordinated by the Pugliese chefs Antonella Acatigna and Giuseppe Gerundino. Later, he participated in the "International Week of Sicily", also in Italy, with Chef Maurizio Urso, disciple of masters such as Giorgio Nardelli, Gualtiero Marchesi and Gianfranco Vissani, and considered the greatest ambassador of Sicilian cuisine in the world.

The man who now lives in Portugal also went to Tuscany to continue learning with Gerundino and other chefs from that region. It was then that he met and worked with Tuscan chef Paola Baccett at the event "Italian Cuisine at Casa Ombutto". Baccett is known for the creativity of her restaurants and of her private dinners, but also for her Italian cooking classes in Florence (Italy) and in California (USA).

During the period in which he refined his knowledge, Ricardo Stella returned several times to Italy for new exhibitions and workshops, but he also made incursions into his native Brazil, where he attended three successive courses with Rosny Gerdes, chef graduated from the French school Le Cordon Bleu and teacher of gastronomy since 2006: there he learned "French Regional Cuisine", "Bistrot Cuisine" and "Contemporary Cuisine". Later, he also trained in gastronomic design, specializing in "Food Design", which helps explain why, besides cooking in your home, he also makes a point of setting the table, decorating and serving your guests throughout the ceremony.

Ricardo Stella arrived in Portugal in June 2018. "If one day I live in Portugal, it will be in Porto", the cook used to say, as he now revealed to LUXIMOS Christie's International Real Estate blog, to justify the preference he always had for the north of the country. "I knew the city well. I came often, because my wife's family is Portuguese. And I always said that one day I would live in Porto". Surrendered to the city and the people, the chef with double citizenship is only surprised by the unfamiliarity of the Portuguese with Italian cuisine. "The Portuguese think Italian food is just pasta and pizzas." It's not. But even when it comes to pastas and pizzas, he's the one who makes the pasta, always fresh. In fact, the pasta, the stuffing and the sauces. That's why the "ceremonial by Ricardo Stella", which always takes place at the client's house, raises the work of this private chef to the level of the greatest and most prestigious gourmet experience.

Exclusive experience from 30 euros

home, house, property

This new gastronomic service of "personal chef" has presented three new characteristics to the Portuguese cuisine: flexibility, ease and familiarity. Stella explains why: "Flexibility has to do with the menu: the client decides what his guests are going to eat, respecting any allergies, and fulfilling tastes, the type of cuisine (Portuguese, Italian, French or other) and the type of menu, which can be more modern or more traditional. The ease is related to all the tasks involved in serving a meal at home, from going shopping to the complete cleaning of the kitchen and dining room. The familiarity obviously relates to the accompaniment service". The client only has to set the date and time of the service. The chef can even bring a small team to assist him if the group of guests is large.

The ideal, he says, is that the group has between six and twenty people. But he also accepts cooking for a couple or for larger groups. Geographically, and despite living in Porto, Ricardo Stella is available to travel up to a hundred kilometres from the city, both south and north, and he can reach Spain. And it can be a floating dinner or a meal at the table. His menu always includes couvert, starter, one or two courses and dessert, which can be sweet or fruit. By having a partnership with a wine club, Chef Stella can also provide the drinks and even make the harmonization between the different moments of the meal.

The reservation must be made at least one week in advance, by phone or facebook. This complete experience is possible from 30 euros per person. From then on, he ensures, "the sky is the limit". Stella is one of the chefs of the project "The Supper Stars", but he is responsible, on his own behalf, for the Gastronomic Confraternity, the service that will make social life in your home more luxurious.
